On November 12, 2014, UBC President and Vice-Chancellor Arvind Gupta hosted the Academic All-Canadian Breakfast of Champions, where 149 UBC student-athletes, including 44 from the Faculty of Education’s School of Kinesiology, were recognized for achieving an average of 80% or higher in their classes while competing in an UBC varsity sport during the 2013-14 season.
“This accomplishment illustrates what I value most about university athletics – people pursuing their passion with such gusto that they can achieve otherwise unimaginable results,” said UBC President and Vice-Chancellor Arvind Gupta. “Not only have you earned the right to participate at the highest level in the strongest university athletics program in the country, they have also maintained an exceptional academic performance.”
